Wonderful, wonderful, critical people

I have found lately that the more people seem to be coming out of the woodwork to criticize what others think or write. If you make a comment that is against some “minority group’s” comment you are labeled a hater of that group. When you state something that comes up in studies which a religious group seems to think puts their heroic leader in a bad light, you are labeled stupid or ignorant. And if you make some comment about what you have found, there are those who make a comment that they won’t make a comment and them proceed to write a long dissertation as to why they aren’t leaving a comment and how wrong you are (again) to put down their hero. When I post, it is to put forth my comments/opinions/observations. I don’t expect people to either agree or disagree with me. If I want a reply/observation/opinion I do ask. Currently I have people on this place, twitter and a couple other places who all they do is post “hate” messages and give no real reasonable conversation about what I post. I may not happen to agree, but I try to hold a constructive conversation. Problem is these people seem bent on not reading all the way through and call me untruthful, a bigot, and ignorant. Why is it people don’t seem to want to have a civil/constructive conversation. This I am posting out of exasperation since on of the posters seems to think waiting over a month or more will change the outcome and my mind.

My familiar …

As some of you may have guessed, my familiars have been canine in species. My current furbabies are not young by a long shot. They are 10 years apart with the lab being the younger at age 7 going on 8 and my Aussie/blue heeler mix being 17 going on 18. The last couple of years the older dog’s hind left leg has been getting progressively weaker and these last few days she has been having a harder and harder time standing and walking. We are on a death watch, yet today she has been playful and not fallen but three times! She has so much life and intelligence in her manner and eyes that it hurts to see her failing, yet there are days like today when she is so alert and I want to think she will go on forever. So I only hope that she will go to sleep and not wake because I didn’t want her to have the indignity of being put down in a vet’s clinic rather than dying at home. Sorry, just needed to talk about her.

Here we go again~

It seems that the men of this town are at it again. One has left his so called friends in a lurch by taking a job without discussing it first and so abandoning a steady business he was suppose to be building. And I just found out that I may have a partner I neither wanted nor needed who is going to help “keep me in my place” by dictating to me how and what I am to put in my “shop” to sell! (no “pagan” items which to them include jewelry, candles, herbs, incense etc.).

It is funny how the people I had hoped would stand by me and stand up for my rights have turned on me and are now siding with those I told I wanted nothing to do with! These self same people pulled this back around 1992-95 when the got involved with people I said I wanted nothing to do with, and they basically took our inventory, sold it all and vanished leaving us with tons of bills that they, not we, ran up! Funny how after they said they would listen and trust me, they are pulling us back into the same situation as back then, and they still won’t heed my warnings! I am wondering if they will ever learn!

Why do people think Paganism is embarrassing?

Have you ever run across the excuse of the family/spouse’s/Child’s religion was an embarrassment? Why would a person’s personal/private spiritual beliefs be an embarrassment to anyone? Paganism or Polytheists usually don’t advertise their beliefs, especially if they believed that doing so could cause them persecution, or harm to themselves or their loved ones.
It seems that more and more people of the monotheistic persuasion are putting false labels on Paganism lately. Some of the terms used are as follows: Delusional, hateful, liars, selfish, and more. It is done to discredit those of us who want nothing to do with the religions Some even go as far as declaring that they would use the fact someone practiced Paganism against them in order to put her in her place. The person, a man, said that she thought she was entitled and therefore better than men. I mean really! We don’t advertise, we prefer to be left alone and we use our abilities to better our lives and the lives of our families and friends. The afore mentioned woman, has many friends who are Christian and is a retailer who sells to pagans, as well as Christians. I am a pagan, and have discussed the bible with a Priest of both the Catholic and Lutheran faiths. Neither of them know what my religious persuasion is, and have never asked. Since my studies cover all belief systems I tend to discuss and know the bible very well…
We pagans know better than to think we are better than anyone else. We do charitable work but never brag about it. We are not all feminists; some of us are mothers, aunts, uncles, fathers and more. We respect life and the right to choose our own path that we wish to walk. We are strong, gentle and kind to others. So next time someone decides that you should not believe as you want, or run your life as it suits you, take a good look at that person. You might find out that he/she is accusing you of exactly what they are.

What’s wrong with most men today!

This is not regarding all men, but is about those I have been having to deal with since moving to the Midwest! I was just informed that I was a crazy liberal feminist who had to be put in my place and that my religious beliefs (which I don’t advertise in the town I live in) would be used against me! I was informed that I was here to “take care of men” and sat on my duff all day and did nothing. That I was a burden and an embarrassment because I happen to be pagan and that was what fueled my delusions of being better than men. WTF! This seems to be the general consensus of 90% of the men I have been running into lately. I don’t work because 1. There really are no jobs in this town for people who were not born here, or a man (I prefer working with cattle but no one will hire a 50+ woman to do a “man’s” job) and 2. my husband prefers that I am home working my crafts and helping around the house. I am currently editing a book for a friend. My religious and political beliefs I don’t talk about and are nowhere near what they want people to think I believe. Funny but they think I will be submissive and cow down to them because they are holding this over my head. The problem for them is 2 can play at this game and without solid proof, they are only spouting hot air. The problem for me? Most women in this town will go along with it because they haven’t the strength to stand against the lies. Think about it!

Fashion doesn’t always tell you what someone is into

There was a post on here today called “ILLUMINATI ANTICHRIST FASHION END TIMES”  It shows two teens wearing black T-shirts, jeans an up-side-down star in a circle. Looking at it one could draw many conclusions, like the author did. Wearing this stuff doesn’t mean you are Pagan, Illuminati, good nor evil. I happen to know a lot of  Christians who dress in Black. That star is just a star in a circle and means different things to different people. A few years back people said GOTH=Black=witch. Not so. So why are conspiracy theorists lumping three different things (Including colors, how people dress and symbols) and saying this means end of world? It is because they are alarmists who actually believe that the Book of Revelations was meant to be interpreted, that witches (not poisoners like the ORIGINAL meaning in the bible)  should not be suffered to live. That if you don’t become a submissive wife/slave/ servant to men (etc.) that you are the cause of  “End Times”

Prophesies vrs “fortune tellers”

I have probably hit on this before, but I saw something (and have been bombarded with) arguments that “It says in the book of Revelations … we are in end times because it has been prophesied” Well, ladies and gentlemen, religion not withstanding a PROPHESY of  any kind is only good until it is told. Because we have freedom to think for ourselves and act, doesn’t mean that a Prophesy of ANY KIND will come true unless you are still following the path you were on before that prophesy was brought into the light, and the Christians seem to forget that their JESUS and his Jewish family, friends etc. were not adverse to seeking out soothsayers, oracles and the like. The Kabala is not called Jewish MYSTICISM because it sounds good. Also, the only difference between the “Prophets” and the Pagans version? The Prophets were 99% men and members of the cloth while fortune-tellers (which Christians dubbed any one who prophesied who was neither mail or of the cloth) were usually not of the cloth and mostly women.  Those of us who are adept at reading the cards, runes, scrying etc. know that because we can choose WE are in control of our lives and those glimpses into the future are merely just possible occurrences if we continue down the path we are on.  We can choose since that is our right.
