What makes people think they know you better than you know yourself? Once again I find myself with my back against the wall. I am starting to feel like looking into online classes or even going to a college (mostly to get out of town.) … What happens? I am being told to take courses for counseling. What the person in question seems to forget was that I don’t want to take that route. Sure, I seem to be good at listening to the problems of others, but I am getting burnt out on that. The thing is what makes a person is a good listener or good in the health care industry in general is also what brings those workers further into a darker place which includes depression, suicide and other mental/emotional places. People say that you must have a tough skin to do this, but to be truly effective you must also have a healthy dose of empathy. I have tried to tell him this, but it goes though one ear and out the other. He would love it if I worked full time or was proven to be handicapped/mentally impaired so that he could get gov. funds that he can spend. Other people tell me “talk to him, tell him it won’t work, etc.” but as I said it doesn’t work. So now (when the weather is crappy and I am stuck inside with him) he is once again planning out how I am to live my life, no matter what I say or have said to him. Thank you for listening/reading.
Have you ever run across the excuse of the family/spouse’s/Child’s religion was an embarrassment? Why would a person’s personal/private spiritual beliefs be an embarrassment to anyone? Paganism or Polytheists usually don’t advertise their beliefs, especially if they believed that doing so could cause them persecution, or harm to themselves or their loved ones.
It seems that more and more people of the monotheistic persuasion are putting false labels on Paganism lately. Some of the terms used are as follows: Delusional, hateful, liars, selfish, and more. It is done to discredit those of us who want nothing to do with the religions Some even go as far as declaring that they would use the fact someone practiced Paganism against them in order to put her in her place. The person, a man, said that she thought she was entitled and therefore better than men. I mean really! We don’t advertise, we prefer to be left alone and we use our abilities to better our lives and the lives of our families and friends. The afore mentioned woman, has many friends who are Christian and is a retailer who sells to pagans, as well as Christians. I am a pagan, and have discussed the bible with a Priest of both the Catholic and Lutheran faiths. Neither of them know what my religious persuasion is, and have never asked. Since my studies cover all belief systems I tend to discuss and know the bible very well…
We pagans know better than to think we are better than anyone else. We do charitable work but never brag about it. We are not all feminists; some of us are mothers, aunts, uncles, fathers and more. We respect life and the right to choose our own path that we wish to walk. We are strong, gentle and kind to others. So next time someone decides that you should not believe as you want, or run your life as it suits you, take a good look at that person. You might find out that he/she is accusing you of exactly what they are.
This is not regarding all men, but is about those I have been having to deal with since moving to the Midwest! I was just informed that I was a crazy liberal feminist who had to be put in my place and that my religious beliefs (which I don’t advertise in the town I live in) would be used against me! I was informed that I was here to “take care of men” and sat on my duff all day and did nothing. That I was a burden and an embarrassment because I happen to be pagan and that was what fueled my delusions of being better than men. WTF! This seems to be the general consensus of 90% of the men I have been running into lately. I don’t work because 1. There really are no jobs in this town for people who were not born here, or a man (I prefer working with cattle but no one will hire a 50+ woman to do a “man’s” job) and 2. my husband prefers that I am home working my crafts and helping around the house. I am currently editing a book for a friend. My religious and political beliefs I don’t talk about and are nowhere near what they want people to think I believe. Funny but they think I will be submissive and cow down to them because they are holding this over my head. The problem for them is 2 can play at this game and without solid proof, they are only spouting hot air. The problem for me? Most women in this town will go along with it because they haven’t the strength to stand against the lies. Think about it!
As a mother and wife I MUST protest what is happening to our society and people. To start off, let me say I am neither a conservative nor liberal and I prefer the Independent party to the two mainstays which look so much alike that lately the could be the same. Here is what I believe.
1. The founding fathers got it right when writing up the Bill of Rights and Constitution. Though we have the right to our speech, our religious beliefs etc. We don’t have the right to FORCE our beliefs on others.
2. Yes, people should help those less fortunate, but that does not mean we have to keep shelling out money for those over seas who are DEMANDING we help them while they are saying we are evil etc. There is a saying that if you give a man a fish he will feast for a day but if you TEACH a man to fish he will feast for a lifetime. If you look at what we did to the Indians making them dependent on handouts to the point where they would rather not be independent but dependent, then you will see a failed experiment.
3. Our government (or rather the Pres.) thinks they know how we should live better than we do. They made it so that we are so regulated that we no longer can work without penalties. And as for the so-called affordable insurance act, that is a complete disaster. We are told we are going to be fined if we don’t have it. I can’t afford it but that doesn’t matter. I can’t take meds., and I seldom go to the hospital (usually taking someone else.) It has nothing for preventative medicine, dental, visual nor Chiropractic. I am not a cookie-cutter citizen, which is what THAT insurance is. I am too old for Medicaid and too young for Medicare. I am not working except for the occasional order for baked goods or teas, none of which are worth shipping since the items I sell cost less than it costs to ship them. I can’t afford to hire people to help nor a “website,” “brick and mortar,” nor the advertising to draw attention to them. In short I want to work (no one is hiring due to the red-tape, distance between my town and jobs, my age and gender. So where do I get the money for the penalties for NOT having his insurance? I don’t.
4. People who can’t work for various reasons are not necessarily lazy, stupid, lovers of welfare. There are those of us who want to work and are put into the category of lazy while being told the jobs we want are going to illegals. We WILL survive because we know how without subsidies and handouts.
There is a blogger who keeps saying that the US is dying. That we will no longer be able to get food and there will be rioting. I don’t believe it will happen in the rural areas because those who live here are farmers, ranchers and people who can survive by raising their own foods. In the big cities there are regulations, which forbid gardens, goat, chickens and other means to feed us. They force us to rely on foodstamps and other handouts instead of allowing us to take care of our families and ourselves. No, the US is not dying it is sleeping until the idiots who tell us we can’t take care of ourselves will be kicked out and we start doing what we know is right!
As this year draws to a close, I wonder if we will learn from our past misdirections and misdeeds then grow with it, or are we going to ignore everything and continue on the course which some idiot set for us. WE are the writers of our destiny. THAT is what free will is all about. We can either go down by doing nothing or choose to change ourselves, the world. I am not saying that “fate” or “destiny” doesn’t exist. In some areas it does. It is there to help us grow, but it is OUR CHOICES which make all the difference in the world. So as the bell tones midnight on the last day of December, remember, it is up to us to either make this world worse or better. Happy New Years!
There was a post on here today called “ILLUMINATI ANTICHRIST FASHION END TIMES” It shows two teens wearing black T-shirts, jeans an up-side-down star in a circle. Looking at it one could draw many conclusions, like the author did. Wearing this stuff doesn’t mean you are Pagan, Illuminati, good nor evil. I happen to know a lot of Christians who dress in Black. That star is just a star in a circle and means different things to different people. A few years back people said GOTH=Black=witch. Not so. So why are conspiracy theorists lumping three different things (Including colors, how people dress and symbols) and saying this means end of world? It is because they are alarmists who actually believe that the Book of Revelations was meant to be interpreted, that witches (not poisoners like the ORIGINAL meaning in the bible) should not be suffered to live. That if you don’t become a submissive wife/slave/ servant to men (etc.) that you are the cause of “End Times”
Yeah, I give up. I really enjoy dressing up in costumes and the like, but this year I can’t find ANYTHING to make the costume I wanted to wear. Nor can I afford to purchase one. We have no costume shops in the area I currently reside in. it is over 100 + miles to the nearest mall and that is not saying much because the nearest mall has a small Penny’s, Herbergers and lost their Kmart. The most you can hope for is western wear which is what everyone wears so it isn’t really a costume. I wanted to go as something other than the traditional witch, vampire, “sexy” what have you, or ghost. And my application of elf ears never works. So this year I am breaking tradition (and my heart) and not going to dress up. I will do a little decoration in the window, but it isn’t the same. For me this is the beginning of the end of my fun and so to the season I bid you an early ado and fond fair-thee-well. I mean why bother when no one else cares enough to at least try to make the day fun.
